Course Content

Follow Total Boxer® Head Coach Deniz Ates as he demonstrates how proper use of the pads is so much more than standing and holding them out in front of your client.

Learn how to use observation, communication and physical movement so that you can safely and effectively guide your students on the pads.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this course you will have the perfect foundation to continue your boxing coaching journey. You will have the knowledge to coach fundamental boxing techniques with pads including the ability to stand, move, punch and defend as a boxer with head movement, hands and footwork - and then putting it all together.

Your Instructor


Deniz Ates
Deniz Ates
Deniz Ates is the Head Coach at Total Boxer®. He teaches group classes and personal training sessions that include recreational boxing, HIIT, and yoga, and has been full time at Total Boxer® since 2012.
As a certified Amateur Coach and BOX Instructor by England Boxing, Deniz teaches Olympic-style boxing fitness classes for adults, teens and children. At Total Boxer®, his classes include Get FIT Not HIT®, HIIB®, BoxingYoga®, and Battlestations. He also teaches CorporateBox classes for businesses as team-building experiences, and both boxing and yoga classes for sports teams as pre-season training.
Deniz also teaches boxers who compete. His personal training sessions include advanced ropework, padwork, footwork and ringcraft.
Passionate about helping people reach their goals, Deniz has written teacher training programmes endorsed by SkillsActive, and has both taught and assessed teacher training programmes for Total Boxer®.
Additionally, Deniz holds a Masters degree in Philosophy from The Open University, and a Bachelors degree in English Literature from Roehampton University.
